Foram anunciados os indicados ao MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) 2020. A lista da premiação videoclíptica é liderada pelas cantoras Lady Gaga e Ariana Grande, com nove indicações cada. Suas nomeações foram alavancadas pelo videoclipe “Rain on Me”, presente em oito categorias, incluindo clipe do ano, música do ano e melhor colaboração.
The Weeknd e Billie Eilish também são destaques na lista. Cada um dos artistas possuem seis indicações. Ambos também disputam o principal prêmio do VMA, o de clipe do ano, por “Blinding Lights” e “everything i wanted”, respectivamente.
Nesta edição, o VMA adicionou duas novas categorias especiais para os tempos de pandemia de coronavírus: melhor clipe feito em casa e melhor performance na quarentena.
